Winning good results in the “Siemens Cup”China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge

Recently, the Ministry of Education has held the twelfth “Siemens Cup” China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge. In thepreliminarycontest of Northeast division, our students won the first prize and two second prizes. The team winning the first prize also got the qualification for the national finals.

The competition was jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Education’s Automation Teaching Guidance Committee, Siemens Ltd. China and the China Simulation Society. There are 160 teams from Harbin Institute of Technology, Northeast Electric Power University, Dalian Polytechnic University, Harbin Engineering University and other universities. In the face of strong opponents, the students of our university responded calmly and steadily, demonstrating a solid professional foundation and excellent team spirit. After fierce competition, the “Peak-climbing” team composed of Song Lei, Kong Pengpeng and Li Xin, instructed by the teachers Li Meili and Fu Xingye of the School of Electrical Engineering, won the first prize of the logic control design and development project and successfully advanced to the national finals. The “V Smile” team composed of Li Zexuan and Li Shiqiang under the guidance of Zhao Xiaohan and Cao Qi, and the “Three Stars” team composed of Zhang Chentao, Wang Zhongyang and Xu Wanzhou, instructed by the teachers Zhang Feng and Sun Yuxuan, won the second prize of continuous process design and development project.

The School of Electrical Engineering attaches great importance to this competition,providing professional instructors for each team. During the summer vacation, our teachers worked tirelessly to give pre-competition guidance to the students and instructed the students to debug the model on the spot. Besides, the students also worked hard to be fully prepared for this competition.
