This Semester’s Fourth Regular Meeting on Teaching

On July 11, the fourth regular meeting on teachingof this semesterwas held in the conference room of the main teaching building. Vice Principal Tian Jun attended the meeting and made a speech. All the staff of Office of Academic Affairs and Center for Evaluationon HigherEducationResearch andTeachingQuality, the deans and deputy deans ofall teaching departments, and theSchool Inspectors attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Tian Jun.

Zhao Dongjiang, director ofOffice of Academic Affairs, made detailed arrangements for the ongoing final examination, the course schedule for the next semester, the student practice, thegraduation thesis(design) arrangements for students enrolled in 2015, the laboratory management, the demonstration and application of new specialty, and the specific work at sprint stage for the Review and Evaluation.

Chang Handong put forward specific requirements for proofreading and revising the self-evaluation report. He gave a detailed account of the specific time and route of theevaluation experts’ in-school and off-campus inspection, the inspection on examination papers and thesis papers, and the details of the data reported before the experts’ entering school.

Tian Jun emphasized seven points on how to better accomplish the tasks of theReview andEvaluationat the sprint stage. Firstly, it is necessary to strengthen the training ofReview andEvaluation knowledge so that teachers and students can understand and master the evaluation knowledge and the main contents of the self-evaluation report. Secondly,it is required to regulate the study, work and corridor environment,andimprove the level and taste of campus cultural construction. Thirdly, promoting construction and reform through evaluation must be persisted in. Our school will look back at the rectification ofthesispapers and examination papers andseriously investigate the teacher’s responsibility depending on the seriousness of the case if there appears a problem. According to the school regulations, the case willbeidentified as a teaching accident, orthe teacher will bedirectly identified as “C” inthe quality evaluation of teachers’ classroom teaching.Besides, the supporting materials should have integrity and systematicness, highlight the key points,andfully reflect the implementation of training objectives, the construction of teaching quality monitoring system, the construction of teachers’ ethics, the construction of teaching style and study style and soforth. Fourthly,our school should scientifically, reasonably and responsibly design and arrange the teaching tasks for the next semester, strengthen the management and guidance of classroom teaching according to the standards of classroom teaching quality, and ensure the continuous improvement of classroom teaching quality. Fifthly, the initiativeshould be takento think and plan the evaluation work. All departments should organize teachers and students to participate in theevaluation throughout the process, enhancetheirsense of responsibility and mission, clarify responsibilities, do a good job of implementation, dare to be responsible, and have the courage to take on responsibility, implement the responsibility layer by layer. If thereappears something wrong, it is necessary to investigate the responsibility at different levels. Sixthly, it is necessary to study and implement the work tasks and procedures during the period when expertscome to school for evaluation, to analyze the tasks in more detail, and to put the tasks into practice.It should be made surethat thereis no problem in each part and that the tasks on Review and Evaluation are done with high quality.
