The Academic Committee of the university held its sixth plenary meeting in the conference room of the main teaching building on the afternoon of July 27. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Fengwu, the chairman of the academic committee and president of the university.

Liu Pengcheng, deputy director of the Scientific Research Department, reported to committee members on the review of the University-level Research Project, Cold Region and Black Glebe Economic and Cultural Studies Project, and Outstanding Academic Publication Foundation Project of 2018. Associate dean of School of Education, Zhou Ziyu, introduced the background, reasons, prospects and significance of declaring Educational Rehabilitation as a new major .

The committee members deliberated the evaluation results of the above projects and the setting-up of the new major. After voting, 21 University-level Research Projects, 4 Cold Region and Black Glebe Economic and Cultural Studies Projects and 5 Outstanding Academic Publication Foundation Projects were set. Members also agreed on the declaration of Educational Rehabilitation major. The results of voting will be announced by the Academic Committee Secretariat. (Reported by Zhang Ruinan)
